People today have a lower tolerance than ever for hype and gloss. Our clients have valuable information and products; I enjoy helping them cut through the clutter, establish trust and connect in meaningful ways with the press and customers.
Joe plans and executes public relations efforts including researching media opportunities, writing press releases and media alerts, and pitching and tracking press coverage — as well as writing and managing social media channels.
Joe is a natural at getting our clients noticed by the media; after all, he spent much of his career working as a journalist. As a reporter for the Missoulian, Joe penned more than 2,400 stories over the course of nine years, winning numerous awards that included two NEA fellowships. His work has been featured in dozens of publications including Business 2.0, The New York Times, Outside, Wired and Salon.com. He is also the author of “Tainted Revelations: The Art of Bill Ohrmann” (Missoula Art Museum / University of Washington Press).
With his experience writing for major national magazines, local newspapers and everything in between, Joe knows how to sharpen a pitch and cut through the clutter. Our clients thrill at Joe’s ability to foster relationships with their customers through the written word.
Three conversation starters with Joe:
Ask Joe to bend his index finger flat against the back of his hand. He can. And it’s totally gross.
Joe can yap about almost any kind of music; but if you really want to get him rolling, bring up anything related to classical music or opera. He’s kind of a geek.
Way back in the mid-1990s, Joe co-hosted and co-produced the first TV series on the Internet. He might even tell you about it.
