VIEW

Great production is a matter of careful planning — but it also involves intuition. I love when we’re able to give a client something that they didn’t even know they wanted until we show it to them.

STORY

As a child, Marianne spent plenty of time dreaming up her own stories. With the quiet backwoods of rural New Hampshire as her setting, and with the family dog as her only character, she drew on her love of reading and history to script plays that took her far away from the trees and boulders around her home.

“There was always the story,” she recalls. “But behind it all, there was also always a lot of organizing.”

Organizing stories is still what drives Marianne. It’s what she started doing straight out of college, as an intern working with celebrated documentary filmmaker Ken Burns. It’s what she did while writing and producing “A Cut Above,” a documentary chronicling a century of Duke University basketball; and while producing TV shows for A&E, HGTV, the History Channel, the Travel Channel and the Outdoor Network.

With her ability to focus on both the puzzle piece and the big picture, Marianne is a natural fit working on complex digital campaigns, videos and other projects that involve coordinated teams, tools and tactics. Needless to say, we’re glad she wrote us — and our clients — into her story.

CONVERSATION STARTERS

Most of us have only encountered celebrities in passing. Marianne? She got a kiss (each cheek) from Richard Attenborough.

There’s also the time she interviewed Jay-Z for over an hour … about a subject he didn’t want to talk about.

It’s not a trick of the light: Marianne does have two dents on her forehead. She’ll even tell you about them, if you ask.
